Score Prediction Tips
A correct score bet is often seen as one of the hardest to predict in football. After all, who could have possibly bet on a score line such as the 4-4 draw between Newcastle and Arsenal during the later months of the 20010-11 Premiership season? There will always be the odd result such as this one but on the other hand, there are theories that you can use mathematics or a bit of research to turn these odds to your advantage.

First of all there`s the system that uses mathematical probability as a useful method that turns a profit more often than it fails. Take a set of 10 premiership matches and before you place any money, have a go at predicting the correct scores at the end of play. Chances are you`ll get two or three correct and have a couple of near misses at the same time.

Now, when you feel confident enough, transfer that strategy to a set of Premiership games and stake say £1 on each match. You`ll invariably find that with odds averaging at around 6/1 for common score lines, you`ll only need two to come in before you can net a profit ready for the next round of games.

There is an alternative version to this method which involves placing the same score line on every game and predicting accordingly. Over the years, statistics have shown that the most common result in any football match is 2-1 to the home side, so with that in mind, all you have to do is place your £1 stake on a 2-1 score in every game. Once again, this isn`t exactly fool proof but the theory is that at least two games should end up in a 2-1 win for the home side and if this is the case, you can collect a profit at the end of the round of matches.

Beyond those not exactly failsafe methods, it`s always best to do your research and just by looking at current form you can gauge how a match is likely to develop. If a team has been beset by goal less draws in recent weeks then it may not be the best idea to bet on them to score heavily and while there will always be the odd exception to that rule, a team that is struggling to score is likely to maintain that record.

Similarly, a team whose strikers are performing at their best are likely to do so for some time and this could mean a string of high scoring results such as 4-1, 5-0 and so on. In these circumstances, although the odds on that type of result may look appealing, it makes this type of bet even harder to predict so you may want to steer clear of these teams.

Another tip is to look at two sides that often turn in high scoring games. The fixture between Spurs and Everton is one example of a high scoring match and while the odds could be appealing, once again they are tricky to accurately predict.

Whether you choose to use a system or your research, you can often find many football tips from pundits for this type of bet and it is certainly one that can make a game that much more interesting.
